Alcoholic Drink Entrepreneur of the Year Nomination!
Food and Drink Heroes
Some great news to mark the end of Dry January for us at Long Shot HQ
Along with our range of all-natural hard seltzers, we have been nominated as finalists for this years ‘Alcoholic Drinks Entrepreneurs of the year’ at the Food & Drink Heroes annual event.
This years awards received almost double the amount of entries than last years competition (over 700 in total), so we’re super chuffed for our alcoholic sparkling waters to be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jubel beer and NIO Cocktails.
All the finalists are now being judged, with the winners to be announced in the coming months – so keep an eye out for that.
Challenging the status quo
Challenger brands like Long Shot make up 96% of Britain’s total food and drink businesses. - contributing a whopping £18bn to the UK economy.
And maybe not such a surprise this one, but us Brits are fond of a bit of an alcoholic drink – with £47bn worth of booze being guzzled by the UK economy every year.
In recent years we’ve seen consumers mindset shifting away from mass-produced brands, towards smaller-batch, artisan alternatives – which is what we’re all about with our range of award-winning hard seltzers.
Hard Seltzers for all
When we launched our hard seltzer idea in May 2020, we wanted to bring people that lighter, cleaner style of drink they didn’t know they were missing.
We were frustrated by the lack of quality, health-conscious drinks on the market, and wanted to change the game on how to drink, as well as making something that works for all diets – whether that’s a new gluten-free option, a simpler vegan drink, or even just a low calorie alcoholic drink.
Unlike other UK seltzers, we only use real fruit juices for flavour in our drinks (no artificial sweeteners or flavourings here), and are committed to only using the highest quality ingredients all sourced from as locally as possible. We’ve got plenty of other exciting things planned for this year, but we’ll always stay true to this ethos.
It’s early days for hard seltzers here in the UK, but we’re proud to be championing this new wave of drinking, so to be recognised for this awards feels pretty great.
We know what we’ll be reaching for tonight to celebrate! Try some for yourself today with our handy mixed case. Cheers
